Wedding Flower FAQs
-
As soon as you have your wedding date and venue confirmed, it’s worth getting in touch. Most couples enquire around 9–18 months before their wedding, particularly for popular spring and summer dates.
However, there is no harm in asking if your wedding is sooner or later. If I have availability and enough time to source everything properly, I’ll always do my best to help.
-
You can enquire through the contact form on my website (click ‘Lets’s Chat’ button), by email or through one of my social media pages.
Please include as much information as you currently have, including:
Your wedding date
Your venue
The flowers or arrangements you may need
Your approximate budget
Your preferred colours and style
Any inspiration photographs you already have
You don’t need to know every detail at this stage. That is what the consultation and design process are for.
-
Yes, 100%! Once I have received your initial enquiry and confirmed that your date is available, we can arrange a consultation to talk through your wedding, ideas, venue and budget in more detail.
Consultations can usually take place by message, video call or in person, depending on your location and the scale of your wedding.
-
We’ll talk about the overall feeling you want your wedding to have rather than simply working through a list of flowers. It doesn’t matter if you’re not 100% sure - I’m here to work with you and figure that out.
We may discuss:
Your colour palette
Your outfits and wedding party colours
Your venue and ceremony spaces
The season
The shape and style of your arrangements
Your favourite and least favourite flowers
The arrangements you would like
Which pieces could be moved or reused
Your approximate flower budget
Delivery, setup and collection requirements
You are welcome to bring inspiration photographs, fabric swatches, stationery, venue photographs or anything else that helps communicate your vision.
-
Not at all. You may know exactly what you want, or you may simply know that you would like some sort of flowers.
I’ll help turn your ideas into a flower concept that works with your wedding, venue, season and budget.
-
Absolutely! I can help you identify which arrangements will make the biggest visual impact and which ones may not be necessary.
Every wedding is different, so I won’t encourage you to order flowers simply for the sake of filling a list. We can focus your budget on the pieces that matter most to you.
-
My natural style is airy, whimsical, colourful and full of movement. I love creating flowers that feel thoughtfully gathered rather than overly rigid or mass-produced.
However, every wedding is designed individually. Your flowers should reflect your personality, your venue and the atmosphere you want to create.
-
Inspiration photographs are incredibly useful for understanding the colours, shape and general style you’re drawn to.
However, I won’t create an exact copy of another florist’s work. Flower availability, season, venue, budget and individual design style all affect the final result.
Instead, I’ll use your photographs as inspiration to create something unique for your wedding.
-
Yes! You are welcome to tell me about any flowers you love, and I will take these into account when creating your proposal.
However, flowers are a natural and seasonal product, so I cannot guarantee every exact variety in advance. Availability can be affected by weather, crop quality, transport delays and the flower market.
Where possible, I’ll source your preferred flowers. If something is unavailable or not of a suitable quality, I’ll choose a similar alternative that works with the agreed colour palette, style and overall value of the design - I will always speak to you first though!
-
I will always work closely with your agreed colour palette, but natural flowers do not come in perfectly controlled shades.
A rose described as blush, for example, may have hints of peach, cream or pink. Colours can also appear differently depending on lighting and surrounding flowers.
Part of the beauty of fresh flowers is their natural variation. Your arrangements may include several complementary tones rather than one completely uniform shade.
-
Of course, and I’ll advise you honestly about what may be available.
Some flowers can be imported outside their traditional UK season.
-
Yes! Super cute too. Small sentimental items can often be attached to your bouquet ribbon or handle.
-
My main focus is fresh flowers, although dried or preserved elements can sometimes be incorporated into a design where appropriate.
Please mention this when enquiring so I can advise whether your ideas will work with my style and your chosen arrangements.
-
Wedding flower prices vary significantly because every wedding requires a different quantity of flowers, materials, preparation and setup time.
The final cost will depend on factors such as:
The number and size of arrangements
Your chosen style
The flowers required
Seasonal availability
The amount of foliage and flower coverage
Installation requirements
Travel and delivery
Setup and collection
Any hired containers or structures
Once we have discussed your ideas, I’ll prepare a personalised proposal rather than asking you to choose from a one-size-fits-all package.
That being said, being honest about your approximate budget from the beginning allows me to recommend the most effective options.I can often suggest seasonal flowers, alternative designs or ways to reuse arrangements throughout the day. However, reducing the budget may require reducing the size, flower content or number of pieces rather than simply using cheaper flowers.
-
A payment schedule can often be arranged, particularly for larger weddings.
Any instalment agreement will be confirmed in writing. Regardless of the instalment dates, the full balance must be cleared by the final payment deadline shown on your invoice.
-
Please contact me as soon as possible. Things happen in life, and I completely understand.
I will do my best to move your booking to a new date, subject to availability. Prices may need to be updated to reflect the new season, flower costs, venue, travel or scope of work.
Your booking fee and any payments already made will be handled according to the postponement terms in your agreement.
